Remember the days when we could wear footed, zip-up, soft and cozy pajamas? I know they do make these for adults, but there's just something weird about that! Really, they're meant for kiddos! I think it's because the body shape is better fit to them at a young age.....before the curves and rolls start! But I digress.........This is Aden and Deegan as many of you know, and Lawrence and I got to spend the last 2 evenings with them. They are 2 of our many blessings in the way of nieces/nephews/family. They have a little sister on the way in a few weeks and will spend more time with us then. We thought it would be nice to start getting them acclimated to our presence a little early, besides letting Mommy and Daddy have a night out and some down time. They love trains. So we took them for supper at Fritz's, then to Union Station for a walk about. The station is actually doing a model train expo right now, so was a perfect visit. Fritz's is where your food is brought via electric train drop-off and the boys, of course, got engineer hats to wear. We saw the mayor's Christmas tree, lying on its side. Lawrence and another crane operator are often the ones that run the crane, that sits the tree up. So the boys also got to see the crane waiting to lift the tree (it was too windy the day Lawrence was to do it, so the crane was sitting overnight to attempt it the next day.)
That was the first night; the second night we stayed in and played blocks, trucks, movies, books, ate supper and gave baths. Seeing the world through 2 and 4 year old eyes is amazing and something we don't do often, anymore. It's great to be a part of, but I thank God we get to kiss them goodnight and go home for a rest! No wonder they call them "rest homes" for those beyond child-rearing years.
